📜 Terms of Service

Effective: March 7, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Citizen Opinion ("Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.

2. Eligibility

• You must be at least 13 years old to use the Platform
• You must be an Indian citizen or resident for location-based features
• You must provide a valid phone number for OTP verification

3. User Accounts

• One account per person — duplicate accounts will be suspended
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account
• You must not share your account credentials with others
• You can delete your account at any time from Settings

4. Content Guidelines

4.1 What You Can Share

• Opinions on government decisions, public services, and policies
• Constructive feedback on local issues and infrastructure
• Experiences with public services in any of 22 supported languages
• Polls on civic topics and community matters

4.2 What Is Prohibited

• ❌ Hate speech, communal incitement, or threats of violence
• ❌ Deliberate misinformation or fake news
• ❌ Spam, promotional content, or advertisements
• ❌ Personal attacks, doxxing, or harassment
• ❌ Sexually explicit or obscene content
• ❌ Content that violates any Indian laws
• ❌ Impersonation of other users or officials

5. Rewards & Wallet

• Rewards are earned based on quality scores assigned by our AI system
• Attempting to game the reward system (fake opinions, bot usage, multiple accounts) will result in permanent ban and forfeiture of earnings
• Minimum withdrawal: ₹50 | Maximum daily: ₹500
• Withdrawal methods: UPI, Paytm, PhonePe, Bank transfer
• We reserve the right to modify reward rates with 7-day advance notice

6. Intellectual Property

You retain ownership of the opinions you share. By posting on Citizen Opinion, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide license to display, distribute, and translate your content within the Platform for purposes of providing the service.

7. AI & Moderation

• All content is reviewed by AI (IndicBERT + Google Perspective API) before publication
• Content may be flagged, modified, or removed if it violates guidelines
• You can appeal moderation decisions within 7 days
• Repeat violations will result in temporary or permanent account suspension

8. Limitation of Liability

Citizen Opinion is provided "as is." We are not responsible for:

• The accuracy of opinions shared by other users
• Any decisions made based on content on the Platform
• Service interruptions due to maintenance or technical issues

9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Hyderabad, Telangana.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. Significant changes will be notified via in-app notification at least 7 days before taking effect.
