1.3 Automatically Collected

  • Device type, browser, and OS version
  • IP address (anonymized after 30 days)
  • App usage analytics (pages visited, time spent)

2. How We Use Your Information

  • Provide and improve the Citizen Opinion platform
  • Authenticate your identity via OTP
  • Display relevant opinions based on your location and language
  • Process wallet transactions and rewards
  • AI-powered content moderation to maintain quality
  • Send notifications about your opinions and earnings (you can opt out)

3. Data Security

We take data security seriously:

  • AES-256 encryption for all personal identifiable information (PII)
  • Hashed phone numbers — we never store plain-text phone numbers
  • Isolated Aadhaar schema — if KYC is required, Aadhaar data is stored in a separate, access-restricted database
  • TLS 1.3 for all data in transit
  • Regular security audits by independent firms

4. Data Sharing

❌ We never sell your personal data to advertisers, data brokers, or any third parties.

We may share anonymized, aggregated data (e.g., "65% of users in Telangana support metro expansion") for public interest research and government feedback, but this data can never be traced back to individual users.

  • Deletion — Delete your account and all associated data
  • Anonymity — Post opinions anonymously if you choose

We use local storage for:

  • Language preference
  • Theme preference (dark/light mode)
  • Session authentication tokens
  • PWA offline data cache

We do not use third-party tracking cookies.

7. Children's Privacy

Citizen Opinion is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13 years of age.
